CHOCONUT
TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS – April 6, 2009
The regular monthly meeting of the Board of
Supervisors was held at the township meeting room, beginning at 7:30 p.m.. Sup. Stewart called the meeting to order and
led in the pledge of allegiance to the American flag. The roll was called and all three supervisors
were present.

Presentation of minutes and treasurer’s report
A motion was made by
Sup.Mattes , seconded by Sup.Dovin and unanimously carried to accept the
minutes and treasurer’s report as presented.
Citizen’s input on the agenda - Public Comment
No comments were offered at
this time.
Reports of the board, commissions and committees
A
report was not available.

Choconut Creek Watershed
A
report was not available.
Sup.
Stewart mentioned that the meetings will be held on a quarterly basis. The next meeting is to be held in June at
Jessup Township.
A
grant has been submitted for road signs.
C.O.G. Sewage is very busy. Codes
announced a change in the personnel of the company that does the third party inspections.
Board of Auditors Report
Auditor
Shirley Kelly presented the supervisors with a report on the audit for fiscal
year 2008.
The
report commended the supervisors for the maintenance of the roads and prudent
financial
management
of the township funds. The
secretary-treasurer was commended for her work in
maintaining
the financial records.
Bids for Road Material
The bids for road material
will be advertised in the newspaper April 8 and April 15th. Those busi-
nesses who are on the vendor
list will received bid forms in the mail.
Bids for Sale of Machinery
The sale of the Gallion and
Rex Roller along with the sale of the paver will be advertised in the
newspaper.
NEW BUSINESS
Posting and Bonding of Roads
The subject of posting and
bonding for weight limits on roads/bridges was discussed and the
supervisors decided to table
the matter for the time being. It would
cost a considerable amount of
money to post and bond a
road and/or bridge in our township.
D’Avelle Subdivision
A motion was made by Sup.
Stewart, seconded by Sup. Mattes and unanimously carried by the
board to approve the
subdivision.
Municipal Certification for Fire Insurance Escrow
The subject was discussed by
the supervisors; it was decided to table the matter for the present
time.
Intermunicipal Agreement
A motion was made by Sup.
Stewart, seconded by Sup. Mattes and unanimously carried by the
board to renew the agreement
with Silver Lake Township. The
supervisors also decided to draw
up an agreement with
Friendsville Borough and to inquire into the possibility of having an agree-
ment with Forest Lake,
Middletown and Apolocan Townships.
Earned Income Tax
The township received a
request from the county commissioners to adopt a resolution to appoint a
representative to the E.I.T.
Tax Collection Committee. The secretary
was instructed to contact
Commissioner Mary Anne
Warren to see if this was necessary since we do not have an E.I.T. in
Choconut Township and do not
have any plans to implement such a tax.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
There wasn’t any public
participation at this point in the meeting.
APPROVAL OF BILL LIST 2009-03, CURRENT BILLS AND PAYROLL
The secretary-treasurer
presented an amendment to the General Funds Budget and the State
Funds budget. A motion was made by Sup. Stewart, seconded
by Sup. Mattes and unanimously
carried by the board to
approve the amendments. A motion was
made by Sup. Mattes , seconded
by Sup. Dovin and
unanimously carried by the board to approve the bill list, current bills and
payroll.

A motion was made by Sup.
Stewart , seconded by Sup. Mattes and unanimously carried by the board to
adjourn the meeting.
