CHOCONUT
TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS – February 1, 2010
The regular monthly meeting of the Board of
Supervisors was held at the township meeting room, beginning at 7:30 p.m.. Sup. Stewart called the meeting to order and
led in the pledge of allegiance to the American flag. The roll was called and supervisors Dovin,
Mattes and Stewart were present.

Presentation of minutes and treasurer’s report
A motion was made by Sup.
Mattes, seconded by Sup. Stewart and unanimously carried to accept the minutes
and treasurer’s report as presented.
Citizen’s input on the agenda - Public Comment
No comments were offered at
this time.
Reports of the board, commissions and committees
Bernie
Griffin reported that he attended the meeting on January 25, 2010. In the report for activity in 2009, there
were no subdivisions for Choconut Township, only two “add-ons”. The subdivision activity for the county in
2009 was the lowest it had been in 16 years.
There were 14 commercial developments in 2009. Bernie also reported that Bob Templeton of
the Susquehanna Co. Planning Commission had sample ordinances for road
encroachments for gas leasing, if the supervisors were interested in obtaining
them.

Friendsville Borough stopped attending the meetings when the Choconut Township
ordinances started being discussed and he wondered what could be done to
encourage them to attend the meetings again.
There was an extensive discussion between Jack, Bernie Griffin and the
supervisors about the proposed nuisance ordinance.
Choconut Creek Watershed
There
was a discussion among Jack Davis and the supervisors about the damage that was
done to the creek by the flooding that took place on January 25, 2010.
Supervisor
Stewart said that the NTC held a reorganizational meeting in January.
C.O.G.
The
floodplain maps may be grandfathered.
C.O.G. Sewage Committee
There
will be new regulations coming from the state.
Sup. Mattes will be meeting with Senator Gene Yaw regarding the state
reimbursement for the committee.
C.O.G. Codes
Silver
Lake Township withdrew their membership.
Choconut Township Auditors’
Annual Report
Shirley
Kelly, Secretary of the Choconut Township Auditors, read a letter stating that
the books had been examined and found to be in good order.

NEW BUSINESS
Reappointment of Choconut Township-Friendsville Borough Planning
Commission
Members
A motion was made by
Supervisor Stewart, seconded by Supervisor Mattes and unanimously
carried by the board to
reappoint the following members:
William A. Dovin – with term
to expire December 31, 2012
James Barber – with term to
expire December 31, 2012
Jack Davis – with term to
expire December 31, 2012
Resolution to Destroy Old Documents
A motion was made by Sup.
Dovin, seconded by Sup. Mattes and unanimously agreed to adopt
Resolution 2010-0201 for the
destruction of documents in conformity with Pennsylvania Act
428.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
There wasn’t any public
participation at this point in the meeting.
APPROVAL OF BILL LIST 2010-01, CURRENT BILLS AND PAYROLL
A motion was made by Sup.
Mattes, seconded by Sup.Dovin and unanimously carried by the board to approve
the bill list, current bills and payroll.

ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Sup.
Mattes, seconded by Sup. Dovin and unanimously carried by the board to adjourn
the meeting.
