Penn Dot (278-1171) maintains Rt. 267,  Quaker Lake Road, and North Road to Montrose; township maintains all other roads.

 

Septic tanks should be pumped on a regular basis.

Code Enforcement: - any Supervisors or COG at 570-465-2633.

 

Habitable dwelling permits are required, and can be obtain from the Code enforcement office of the Council of Governments (COG) in New Milford.  Please start the permit application process by calling  the COG office for a building permit at 570-465-2633, or email Cog@nep.net.  Assessment permits for garages and miscellaneous buildings that are not habitable are issued by the township supervisors, and can be obtained by calling 553-2780 to obtain an application form.

 

An Erosion & Sedimentation Plan is required for any excavation, contact the Susquehanna County Conservation District, at 278-4600 ext. 280.  Also call 1-800-962-7962 to check if there are buried wires or pipes 48 hours in advance of the excavation.

 

 

Garbage service is provide by:

 

Susquehanna Disposal - Garbage collected each Thursday, use your own black bags, maximum 3.  Recycled material picked up 1st and 3rd Thursday with garbage, in clear bags.  Call 570-934-0958 between 7am - 7 pm.  Billing is quarterly.

 

Waste Management  has regular pickups on Wednesdays.  Recyclable pickups are done on the Wednesday of the third full week of the month.  Both trash bags, (blue in color), and recycle bags, (clear with blue lettering), must be ordered from Waste Management.  Bills are sent out quarterly and and may be paid on line.  The office that manages our area has a mailing address of P. O. Box 157, Dunmore, PA 18512.  The phone is 570-344-7812 or 800-222-2028.  While bills can be paid on line, it is necessary to order bags via the phone.

 

Recycled material can also be dropped off at the Susquehanna County Recycling Center south of Montrose.
